British Airways has created a new management team to further strengthen its stronghold in the Indian market. Christopher Fordyce, Regional Commercial Manager, British Airways, South Asia, said, “We have specially selected a core team to drive the next phase of our growth. India is a very important market for British Airways and we have grown considerably in the last few years. We need to ensure that we tap into the tremendous growth potential that India offers. We are very confident our new commercial team will help us continue our growth significantly in the region.”
Anjali Puri has been appointed as Commercial Development Manager, South Asia; Nepali Gandhi as Corporate Sales Manager, South Asia and Tarun Minocha as Trade Sales Manager, South Asia.
Puri will now be responsible for all sales related activities for the region. Prior to this appointment, she was the Corporate Sales Manager, India and Key Account Manager Corporate Sales for the airline. She has been with British Airways for twelve years and has held key positions in a wide variety of functions. She has a degree in History from LSR, University of Delhi.
Gandhi will be responsible for all sales activities related to the corporate channel in the region. Prior to this appointment she was the Trade Sales Manager for India. She started her career with British Airways in 1993 in the operations team where she handled different responsibilities. After seven years of experience in customer service, Gandhi moved to the commercial arena as an Account Manager. She has a BSC degree in Chemistry from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and has also completed two years of Law (Govt. Law College).
Minocha will be responsible for development and implementation of trade sales strategy. He will be working closely with commercial and business development; revenue development and corporate sales teams to deliver the business plan initiatives.
Prior to this appointment, he was responsible for the North, South and East India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives regions as Area Customer Service Manager at British Airways World Cargo. He has been with British Airways for more than seventeen years and has won many accolades for his performance including commendations for station start ups, strategy and recognition from the British High Commission for service excellence during the handling of Royal Air Force. He is a Bcom graduate from the University of Delhi.
